Vanadium was an Italian heavy metal band. It was among the first groups of its kind to appear on the Peninsula and is considered among the most representative of the Italian heavy metal scene. It was a successful band in Italy and on the international scene. ==History== Vanadium formed in Milan in 1980, founded by Stefano Tessarin (guitar), with Ruggero Zanolini (keyboards), Domenico Prantera (bass) Lio Mascheroni (drums) and Pino Scotto (vocals). Musically they are very influenced by hard rock groups like Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. There are many difficulties to emerge in a time when heavy metal music had not yet fertile ground in Italy, but the career of Vanadium is dotted with good success, even abroad. Their discography includes a first single (''We Want Live with Rock 'n' Roll'' - Durium, 1981) seven studio albums and the live ''On Streets of Danger''.
